Garlic Bacon Wrapped Asparagus (Print version)

Tender asparagus bundles wrapped in crispy bacon with garlic, ready in just 30 minutes.

# What goes in:

→ Vegetables

01 - 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed
02 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

→ Meats

03 - 8 slices thin-cut bacon

→ Seasonings & Oils

04 - 1 tbsp olive oil
05 - 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
06 - 1/4 tsp salt

# Cooking steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
02 - Wash asparagus spears and trim the tough woody ends from the bottom.
03 - In a large bowl, combine asparagus with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Toss until spears are evenly coated.
04 - Divide seasoned asparagus into 8 equal bundles, each containing approximately 3-4 spears.
05 - Wrap each asparagus bundle with one slice of bacon, starting from the bottom and spiraling upward. Place bundles seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
06 - Bake for 18-20 minutes until bacon becomes crispy and asparagus is fork-tender.
07 - For extra crispy bacon, switch to broil for 1-2 minutes while watching closely to prevent burning.
08 - Transfer bacon-wrapped asparagus bundles to a serving platter and serve immediately while hot.

# Tips from flavorandfeast:

01 -
  • The combination of smoky salty bacon and fresh tender asparagus creates that perfect balance that makes people instantly reach for seconds
  • They come together in under 30 minutes but look impressive enough for company yet simple enough for Tuesday dinner
02 -
  • Thick cut bacon won't cook through properly before the asparagus becomes mushy, so stick with thin or regular slices
  • Patting the asparagus completely dry before tossing with oil prevents soggy steamed bundles instead of roasted ones
03 -
  • Tuck the loose end of the bacon slice underneath the bundle so it stays secure while cooking
  • If the asparagus spears are very thick, use a vegetable peeler to shave down the bottom ends slightly for even cooking
