# Cooking steps:

01 - Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
02 - In a bowl, toss chicken cubes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well coated.
03 - Thread the chicken pieces onto soaked skewers.
04 - Grill skewers for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and lightly charred. In the last 2 minutes, brush with barbecue sauce on all sides.
05 - While chicken cooks, assemble salad greens, bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and avocado in a large bowl.
06 - In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.
07 - Toss salad with dressing just before serving.
08 - Top salad bowls with hot BBQ chicken skewers and serve immediately.

# Tips from flavorandfeast:

01 -
  • The smoky grilled chicken transforms an ordinary salad into something people actually get excited about eating
  • Everything comes together in under 40 minutes but tastes like you put way more thought into it
02 -
  • Soaking skewers is non-negotiable unless you want to explain to your guests why their dinner is on fire
  • Adding BBQ sauce too early will result in charred sugar flavor, not the good kind of char
03 -
  • Let the chicken rest for a couple minutes after grilling so the juices redistribute instead of running all over your salad
  • Warm the dressing slightly if you have been keeping it in the fridge, it will coat the greens better
